No typical star, she said
“There’s too much of me,”
asked for the camera to cut
to someone else. Still,
critics called it The Madonna
Reed Show and the crew
resented her steel fist
in a velvet glove. But
what else could we
expect? Critics and crew,
all mostly men.
Donna couldn’t tell the writers
how to fix the script.
She had to say well
I don’t know anything
about writing, but…
to get anything done.
